One of the byproducts of writing a book is a leftover collection of stories and anecdotes that for whatever reason weren’t used. They were too brief, off-topic, or couldn’t be worked into the story. But still good stuff.

I’ve decided to share this material — and more — with fans of 18 Tiny Deaths in a new limited run weekly email newsletter called Investigator Notes. Each issue will contain original tales from police history, glimpses of the Glessner family life in Chicago and at The Rocks, news about book-related events and appearances, and first dibs on giveaways and other specials.
